Happy Halloween Weekend!
So, a bunch of the crew from the Coyotes are running and crewing/pacing for the Javelina Jundred 100 mile race in Arizona. You better believe that although I'm not out there with them physically, I will be cheering all of them on from home as I watch the web tracker online. I am so excited to be a part of such an awesome group of runners, and will definitely be either racing or crewing at the next event. It's certainly hard to run with a bunch of ultra runners and not be influenced to want to try to do longer, harder, mentally challenging, CRAZY distances. I can pretty much guarantee my mileage will continue to go up, and naturally, my races as well. How can you NOT be inspired by these insanely strong (physically and mentally) people?!
I think training for this weekend will involved a 12-14 mile run...I may not travel anywhere for it, but instead do it alongside the beach. That sounds relaxing. I am 2 weeks out from the Malibu Marathon (Nov. 15th) and starting to feel really good. Last weekend Ruth and I ran the trails up in Pt. Mugu for a total of 18 miles, and I felt great. I was incredibly sore the week before, but was advised to buy a foam roller, that is now my LOVE in life. I got a half size foam roller and a book of self-myofascial release exercises from Acology on Wilshire in Santa Monica. I won't lie that the roller brought me to tears when I was working on my quads Friday night, but I also am not lying when I say that the thing really SAVED me for me trail run. Trust me people, for $10 a pop, HIGHLY recommended.
Hmmm...what else on my mind running-wise? I have some gear I am in need of these days. Whenever Zombie Runner gets their next shipment of Moeben Running Sleeves, I ALL over thatt. I've heard around these woods that the hemp sleeves are incredibly comfortable, but I haven't bought a pair yet because they're out of my size. I am loving the different patterns though, so may get a few. Cute? Yes.
I also need to get myself a hydra vest. I have been recommended to buy the 70 ounce Nathan Women's Racing vest. If anyone else has high recommendations, please let me know!!
Have an awesomely spooky JALLOWEEN all!
